Prabhat Film Fest in city from 15 March
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 11 March 2013 18:23 ISTPrabhat Films, India’s one of the oldest film company from Kolhapur, will have a five-day Marathi film festival in Goa from 15 to 19 March.
Isak Mujawar, one of the renowned film critic who ruled the film world from ’50 to ‘80s, will inaugurate the Film Festival of Prabhat Films, to be held at Entertainment Society of Goa auditorium at 5.30 pm every day.
The festival would screen three historical films produced by Prabhat and directed by V Shantaram, besides one each by V Damle and S Fattelal as well as Gajanan Jahagirdar.
The screening schedule would be as follows:
15 March: Sant Tukaram, Director: V Damle and S Fattelal (1936)
16 March: Shejari, Director: V Shantaram (1941)
17 March: Kunku, Director: V Shantaram (1937)
18 March: Ramshastri, Director: Gajanan Jahagirdar (1944)
19 March: Manoos, Director: V Shantaram (1939)
The festival would also have a seminar on Challenges faced by Regional Cinema on 17 March at 11 am.
Isak Mujawar, Director of Kolhapur International Film Festival secretary Dilip Bapat, Goan film director Rajendra Talak, Goan filmmaker Dnyanesh Moghe and Goan film producer Dr Pramod Salgaoncar would participate in the seminar.
ESG vice chairman Vishnu Wagh said chief minister Manohar Parrikar would also attend the inaugural ceremony.
ESG chief executive officer Prasad Lolayekar said they would have repeat screening only if there is a public demand.
