12 Out of Box films to be screened from 14 June

 

Altogether 12 ‘different’ films of Indian Cinema would be screened at a ‘Cinema Out of Box’ festival organized by the Entertainment Society of Goa, from 14 June.

The four-day festival would screen the films only in the evening at Maquinez Palace, beginning at 4 pm every day.

Mahesh Manjrekar, a Marathi film maker, would inaugurate the festival on 14 June at 6 pm, followed by his much-debated film ‘Kaksparsh’.

The films include ‘Neecha Nagar’ of 1946 by Basu Chatterjee, ‘Jagte Raho’ of 1956 directed by Amit Mitra and Sombhu Mitra, ‘Charulata: The Lonely Wife’ of 1964 by Satyajit Ray, ‘Uski Roti’ of 1969 by Mani Kaul, ‘Koshish’ of 1972 by Gulzar and ‘Rat Trap’ of 1982 by Adoor Gopalkrishnan.

It also includes recently made films like ‘Déjà Vu’ of 2001 by Biju Vishwanath,  ‘Struggler’ of 2006 by Mahesh Manjrekar, ‘Dev D’ of 2009 by Anurag Kashyap as well as ‘Inshallah Football’ and ‘Inshallah Kashmir’ of 2010 by Ashwin Kumar.
