Asha Kamat suspended for FEMA violation
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 16 April 2012 23:44 ISTAsha Kamat, ex-registrar
Asha Kamat, former registrar of Tiswadi taluka, has been suspended for violating FEMA rules.
She has been prima facie found guilty by the Vigilance Department.
According to FEMA rules, no Non Resident Indian can buy agricultural land in India.
However, Kamat registered sale of agricultural land in Chorao of around 4600 square meters to two NRIs in2007.
The vigilance department had then filed a case against her.
A thorough investigation would now be held in this case.
Kamat has reportedly known to be one of the most corrupt officers in the state government.
I wonder how and where,Asha Kamat has invested, the "alleged" bribes, she has collected over the years? Is anyone able to answer this question?
There is a trend, of investments undertaken, in such cases.
Well done vigilance department, the credit goes to
new government such as Hon CM Parikkar.Dig out
every corner corruption routes punish them. Vigilance department please pop in Margao Sub registar as well many bribe and corruption are going. Shame Asha Kamar feel like inocent.

This lady is the most popular lady in Goa. She is the most corrupt at her level & ammassed lot of weath from fraud deals at Sub-Registrars office, wherevr she has been transferred.
She should be sent to jail first & then investigated for her crimes.Legal procedures should have been initiated years ago. She had support of her Congress colleagues as well.
