Covid deaths doubling, will it surpass Aug toll of 150?

It's a little worrisome. The graph of Covid deaths in Goa is rising substantially. 11 deaths were reported yesterday, the highest number of one-day toll ever recorded in Goa so far. And the count of the first eight days of September is much higher than the first eight days of August.

Out of total 262 deaths till date, 67 deaths have been reported within nine days of this month, including one death occurred today. There were 150 deaths in August, 41 in July and four deaths in the last eight days of June.

The first Covid death of Goa was reported on 22nd June.

The average number of deaths this month is still at 2.23 per day, compared to five deaths a day on an average last month. But the comparative numbers of the first eight days of August and September are alarming.

The month of August had witnessed 28 Covid deaths in the first eight days. In contrast, 66 people have succumbed to Covid in the first eight days of September, which is more than double.

Also, the deaths in the first week of August remained between two to five a day. But except four deaths on 1st September, the number of deaths per day are not below seven.

In fact, September has already recorded 10 deaths a day twice, on 2nd and 6th September.

The highest number of nine deaths were reported on Independence Day last month.
