“I welcome the registration of FIR against me. I have nothing to hide. I reiterate that I am an Indian National. I am confident the Goa Police will conduct a detailed investigation into the complaint against me and Mr Aires Rodrigues and eventually the truth will surface.”

The complaint states that the birth of Rajeev Savio Gomes was registered in the Central Registry of Births, Marriage and Deaths of Lisbon, Portugal as Assento de Nascimento No.1036066 /2010 on 15 April 2010.
