RSS joins MGP, demanding public apology from Portugal’s ‘Goan’ PM

Following the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has now demanded that ‘Goan-origin’ Prime Minister of Portugal should publicly apologise for its colonial rule over Goa.

The issue has cropped up with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government planning to invite and felicitate Portugal’s newly elected Prime Minister Antonio Costa, who is originally a Goan.

“Since Costa is a Goan, we expect him to be equally sensitive for the religious conversions Portuguese did while trying to destroy Indian culture through Inquisition for 225 years”, says Subhash Velingkar, Goa’s RSS leader.

According to him, Costa – being a Goan - should have no problem in offering public apology for the torturous colonial rule Portugal had over Goa for 451 years.

“I have no objection to felicitate Portuguese prime minister since he is originally a Goan, but the government should put the apology a precondition before him”, felt Velingkar.

It is clear that the RSS is using Goa government’s proposal to felicitate Portugal PM to corner its own political wing – the BJP, which is presently on the loggerheads with its parent organisation.

Through Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM), the RSS is presently agitating against its own political wing for continuing the Congress government policy to give government grants to Church-run English medium primary schools.

In fact defence minister Manohar Parrikar yesterday appealed to his party workers not to participate in any action of the BBSM, which is criticising the BJP government.

“Let the government also felicitate the Portugal PM to appease a particular section of the Goan society, we have no objection”, Velingkar said sarcastically in a press note issued in this regard.

The RSS-led BBSM has been consistently criticising the BJP government that the grants are continued to appease the Goan Christian community and the Church, which is politically powerful.

While coming to power, the BJP has assured Goans to cancel the Congress decision to give government grants to Church-run English medium primary schools and limit it to only Konkani and Marathi medium private primary schools.

The 21-member BJP in the 40-member House has six MLAs belonging to minority community while four more minority legislators, including one minister, are also supporting the BJP-led coalition.

The suggestion to felicitate PM Costa was made by Deputy Chief Minister Francisco D’Souza, which was instantly supported by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar as well as opposition leader Pratapsing Rane, belonging to the Congress.

With the BJP diluting its Hindutwa agenda in this political condition, the three-member MGP – the senior coalition partner – is seen taking aggressive Hindutwa stands on various issues.

RSS leader Velingkar has in a press note also congratulated MGP leader and PWD minister Sudin Dhawalikar for taking a bold stand and demanding public apology from the Portuguese PM when a congratulatory motion was discussed in the recently concluded winter Assembly session.

Forgive and Forget is the true Goan accomplishment. I demand apology from RSS & MGP for the comments on church, for the wrong comments on religion, for spoiling peace and harmony of Goa and Goans. Whose fathers what goes if I learn in English/Konkani or Marathi-Do RSS, MGP will feed us all? Than create thousand jobs for only Goans by giving dead with high pay, and not peanut pay of Rs 6450/-. Common answer? I want a practical answer from RSS/MGP.

BJP is on the same road I demand apology from them for declassifying coconut and Goans Identity. Goans main course is fish curry and rice. Would they change this also?

FAMINES IN INDIA DURING BRITISH RULE: Between 12 and 29 million Indians died of starvation while it was under the control of the British Empire, as millions of tons of wheat were exported to Britain as famine raged in India.

In 1943, up to 4 four million Bengalis starved to death when Winston Churchill diverted food to British soldiers and countries such as Greece while a deadly famine swept through Bengal. Talking about the Bengal famine in 1943, Churchill said: "I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion. The famine was their own fault for breeding like rabbits

The above is one of the several worst atrocities carried out by British on Indians.

My question now to RSS is do they have guts to ask for apology with Queen Elizabeth ? Why only target the Goan origin PM of Portugal who is now colonizing our past conqueror?

I feel there can be a long list of foreign agressors from we should seek apology. But we should observe one day in a year as a day of shame. This is because behind every incidance of our nation's subjugation there is hand and greed of the insider. Situation has not changed. We should be on guard to avoid future apologies. We should thank aggressors for keeping us united else we are a permanently divided nation.

The Goans Hindus who surnames ending in kar like Parrikar, Parsekar, Velingkar etc are NOT original Goan but from Maharashtra and want to spoil the peace and unity of Goa.

These scum bags should be sent back to their original gutters.

Current day Portugal should apologize for all the past misdeeds of their ancestors. They had no business to come to Goa and make our ancestors suffer the way they did. Especially the horrendous inquisition. If the Pope can go around to apologize for past mistakes of the Church why not Portugal. Even Japan apologized to China.
