BJP plans to mobilise 30 K people for Parrikar's '60 B'

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party plans to mobilise around 30,000 people from all over Goa to felicitate Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on his 60th birthday, on 13 December.
Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari will attend the gala birthday, said Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
Under CM’s chairmanship, a committee of around 135 leaders has been constituted consisting of ministers, MLAs, BJP’s coalition partners like the MGP and GVP as well as businessmen Srinivas Dempo and Victor Albuquerque.
The decision was taken at a meeting of ministers and MLAs belonging to the BJP-led alliance held in the city, which was also attended by Congress MLA Mauvin Godinho.
The BJP now plans to organise constituency meetings of its cadres, workers and sympathisers “to mobilise people for the birthday”, said Parsekar.
The gala birthday would be celebrated in the capital city of Panaji, which was Parrikar’s constituency till he resigned as the MLA (and also as Goa’s chief minister) to take over reins at the centre.
He is the only five-time MLA of Panaji till date.
