ATM thieves arrested in Goa by Mah police

Maharashtra police arrested three men at a Miramar beach hotel near here in connection with an alleged ATM money heist in Ahmadnagar on July 20.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Pune-based Lonikand police station and the Panaji police, which nabbed them in a hotel with stolen cash amounting to Rs 1.16 crore.

Pramod Ingle, Sandip Kadam and Santosh Sonadkar were arrested by the Maharashtra police, solving an ATM heist that was reported near Wagholi petrol pump near Ahmadnagar.

The cash belonged to State Bank of India and the accused were supposed to load it in an ATM, when they allegedly committed the crime.

Panaji police inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai said that Ingle was the driver of the van which had been carrying three containers of cash to be loaded into three different ATMs.

The robbery was reported on Saturday evening after Ingle drove away with two boxes containing Rs 1.16 crore, while guards accompanying him were in the ATM.

Ingle was joined by two others on his way. Later, they travelled to Hyderabad where they abandoned the van and reached Goa boarding a bus along with the cash, police said.
