Modi to speak on elections tomorrow

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will address the BJP national executive committee tomorrow on forthcoming Assembly elections in four states.

BJP spokesperson Prakash Jawadekar today said at the press conference that the party would adopt a political resolution tomorrow.

All the four BJP chief ministers are expected to speak – Modi of Gujarat, Manohar Parrikar of Goa, Shivraj Singh of Madhya Pradesh and Dr Raman Singh of Chattisgarh.

Following this, said Jawadekar, former party president Nitin Gadkari would put forward a perspective for a political resolution.

This would be followed by over one hour discussion, before adopting the political resolution.

Replying to question, Jawadekar said Parrikar would also put forward Goa’s position on the demand of Special Status Goa is making.

The BJP national conclave is expected to take a unified position of granting special status to Goa by amending Article 371 of the Constitution of India.

However, curiosity is raised about what Modi would speak while putting forward the party perspective on elections since there is a demand to make him the poll campaign chief for the Assembly polls as well as the forthcoming Parliamentary election.
