68 arrested in 27 cases of parlour prostitution

After series of raids on massage parlours doubling up as prostitution dens, Goa police have submitted a report to the government detailing the action taken by them against such places.
Superintendent of Police (Crime) O P Mishra told reporters that the 68 people have been arrested for human trafficking as a result of the raids.
The report has given a list of massage parlours which were booked in last six months.
Mishra said a plan has also been proposed to stop rampant prostitution happening in the guise of massage parlours located in the coastal belt.
Police have also listed the parlours which are operating without a licence.
Over last few months, 27 cases have been booked.

It is the result of Excesses of un controlled tourism! The coastal belts of Goa, lately, have become so notorious for drug, prostitution and crime that if not controlled in time, It wont be long for Goa to become next Pattaya and we might loose this industry as that of mining.
A thorough probe is necessary.The culprits needs to be punished, Their licenses need to be revoked and premises sealed.
The other question comes to mind is that, why were these massage parlours not checked earlier for their authenticity? Were they carrying proper licenses issued by health department? Were they authorized to run the business at the specified locations? Were the employes carrying proper documents, such as health card on them? And the most important, why these cases came into limelight only during BJP government? Were the concerned police officials not aware of these crimes during erstwhile congress regime? Or they were being ignored at the instance of some politician? Lot of questions.
These menace needs to be weded out from Goa and our coastal beaches free from drugs and prostitution. This will also eliminate backpack tourists who are nuisance and drain on our tourism facilities. Our tourism department should focus on attracting quality tourists, foreign as well as domestic, rather than quantity and backpackers to Goa. Goa boasts of beautiful beaches and does have top rated hospitality infrastructure. It needs quality tourism.
