Alemao resignations maligned Cong image: Mauvin

A day after the political drama over the resignations of two Congress ministers in Goa ended, campaign chief of Congress in the state Mauvin Godinho said that 'such incidents malign party's image.'
"Such incidents certainly affect party's image in the state," Godinho said talking to reporters in the port town of Vasco.
Upset over the disqualification of Churchill Alemao's daughter Valanka from contesting Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (GPYCC) elections, Churchill and his elder brother Joaquim Alemao, both Congress ministers in Kamat cabinet, had submitted their resignation.
Two ministers -- Churchill Alemao and his elder brother - had resigned from the state cabinet on Saturday.
They however withdrew their resignations after meeting the High Command in New Delhi.
Godinho said that such incidents will dent the party image considering the possibility of early polls in the state early next year.
He said, "It is for the Chief Minister, who is the Congress legislature party chief, to contain such damage."
Back from Delhi, Churchill said that high command has assured proper weightage to his daughter Valanka and Joaquims son, Yuri, in the forthcoming assembly polls.
Goa desk in-charge Jagmit Singh Brar, who is quoted by the local media saying that Churchill was not given any assurance, was not available for comments despite frequent calls and text messages.
These two are just playing games. If CM accept their regination , they both will seat independence and tommorrow they will ask money to join congress.. They should be arrested imediately for doing illegal mining business.
At the moment there are two members of the family in the congress party. Now they are trying to add two more into the party. And then run Goa as a family business. The Alemao have obviously seen how lucritive this business can be. We goans are blind and stupid.
If the congress really wants to improve its image and want to come back to power in next general election then they should immediately wipe out family raj in Goa by insisting the remaining two families to resign and go for fresh Bi-election for four constituencies and give chance to younger generations.
