JMFC extends arrest period for Mickky by 5 more days

Margao Judicial Magistrate First Class refused to declare Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco as proclaimed offender and extended the period by five more days to arrest him.

Seven days after the JMFC had issued warrant against the former RDA minister, Mickky is still not traceable.

His review petition against the order to sentence him six-month jail term is still not come up before the Supreme Court.

The apex court had earlier upheld the lower court order to sentence him six-month jail term for assaulting an electrical engineer of Goa Government in 2006.

Aires Rodrigues, who had earlier sought arrest warrant against Mickky by approaching first the high court and then the JMFC Margao, had once again approached the lower court to get him declared as proclaimed offender.

While rejecting the prayer, Margao JMFC Pooja Kavalekar extended the warrant period by five more days.

Meanwhile, chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar today told the media that he would not interfere in the matter.

“Let the law take its own course. All are equal before the law”, he said.
