Vishwajeet quits Cong, supporting Parrikar Govt. To be a minister?

Within three hours after he took oath as a newly elected MLA from Valpoi, Congressman Vishwajeet Rane as quit the party and support the BJP-led Manohar Parrikar government.

Though Vishwajeet had announced soon after the Assembly session that he has decided to resign, he officially submitted his resignation at 3.05 pm.

Pro-tem speaker Siddharth Kuncalienker also confirmed that he had accepted the resignation.

“I am fed up of the Congress. I will contest again and support the BJP government’, he told goanews.com.

However, Vishwajeet did not confirm whether he will join the BJP-led Manohar Parrikar government, pending his by-election from Valpoi.

“It is up to the chief minister, it’s not my prerogative”, he said.

He also said he has not decided which party to contest upon, the Sattari Yuva Morcha or some other name.

He simply smiled when asked it could be the BJP.

It is likely that chief minister Parrikar would fill the vacant berth by inducting Vishwajeet as one of the ministers.

While Parrikar has kept two berths vacant, the news is making round that few more Congressman may follow Vishwajeet and one of them would fill the second vacancy in the cabinet.

After taking oath, Vishwajeet today walked out of the Assembly hall while the trust vote was being taken.

As a result, Congress reduced to 16 against 22 of the coalition government led by the BJP.

Vishwajeet told goanews.com that he is fed up the way the Congress leadership handled the issue of government formation and lost the opportunity of coming to power.

“I am committed to my people of Sattari and their development”, he said.

The 45-year old son of veteran Congress leader Pratapsing Rane was elected the MLA for the third time in this Assembly election from Valpoi.

He was also the minister in the Digambar Kamat government, which ruled a full term in 2007.

The struggle for political power in Goa in March 2017 had grown intense reaching at the doors of Supreme Court also where submission of Congress was not accepted. Floor test fixed for 16 March 2017 when Parkar of BJP has been successful. And now news is that a prominent Congress leader has left the Party. This Vedic astrology writer had alerted for more care and appropriate strategy in Goa as well in relation to political situation through hitherto well known article “ 2017 – an opportune year for India with major worrisome concerns in February-March and August-September” issued widely to Indian news media last year in October and November 2016. Just reproducing some parts : “ The months of February-March 2017 suggest some substantial concerns for the country. March looks to be in particular. Some parts …. Goa may also take more care and appropriate strategy. Some political leaders may likely be unwell or may break away”. So the message is unambiguous , though implied.

Those Candidates who are won in their respective party Symbol and they want to go in other party must first Resign and Re-contest in other party’s symbol and win and go to that party. Without resigning and without re-contesting should not be allow to jump to other party. This is direct cheating with the voters.

Good riddance bad rubbish. Good he resigned otherwise the Congress leadership had decided to sack him along with his father. But to save his father in his old age to remain in the Congress, he went away before quietly. He is a thorn in congress and always a dissident. All the Congress man knows that vishwajeet is trying to be Chief Minister after every election thinking that his father was the Chief Minister of Goa and so he should be a chief minister of Goa. God should never make this rubbish guy a chief minister of the state. Even Churchill Alemao God fearing person God made him the Chief Minister for 15 days and his name is there in the books. Rane is the worst person in congress and all congress man and the leardership should be happy about the same. He questions to the high command has been ignored and what letter Vishwajit had send to Rahul Gandhi is torn and thrown in the dustbin.
