Goa's BJP ministers to resign after RSS revolt?

A clear indication in this regard is given by Subhash Velingkar, Goa’s undisputable RSS leader, whose removal as Goa chief resulted into all the committee members from state to village resigning enmass.

The question was asked to him at the interview of Goa 365 TV channel, with reference to the support of the BBSM to union minister Shripad Naik and Goa minister Rajendra Arlekar.

“We had made an appeal to them long ago to quit. Now I feel the time has come to act in this regard. You will see it very shortly”, said Velingkar.

Is there an indication? Rather than saying yes or no, Velingkar preferred to say: “I don’t want to say anything.”

Replying to another question, Velingkar even appealed to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar to quit the party and join the movement of the newly formed Goa Prant of RSS.

“If he was not pressurised by defence minister Manohar Parrikar, Goa government under him would have taken a decision to withdraw grants to the Church-run English medium primary schools”, feels Velingkar.

In spite of being party to take ahead Parrikar’s agenda of continuing grants to the Diocesan schools, the RSS chief of Goa says they would welcome Parsekar in their new political movement.

However, he is equally confident that Parrikar would never come back to them by repenting for his decision of taking U turn over the election promise of 2012 to withdraw the grants.

BJP REBELS TO JOIN MGP?

Velingkar also said their first choice to defeat the BJP would be the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and not the idea of floating a new political outfit.

“If MGP breaks ties with the BJP, Bhausaheb Bandodkar’s party is our first choice. If not, the new political outfit is our last option”, he clarified.

He also suggested that those who leave the BJP should join the MGP and contest next election.

Velingkar admits that the MGP compromised on the Medium of Instruction issue as an alliance partner of the erstwhile Congress as well as the present BJP government.

“But MGP is less compromising than the BJP. We will prefer this party, if it snaps ties with the BJP”, he said.

Strategically, Velingkar feels that the MGP’s mass base and 3 lakh RSS sympathisers is the winning formula of winning next election with majority seats.

“IT’S PARRIKAR-GADKARI CONSPIRACY”

According to Velingkar, the conspiracy to drop him as Goa chief of RSS was hatched by union ministers Parrikar and Nitin Gadkari, in consultation with BJP national president Amit Shah.

He refuses to accept that Prime Minister Narendra Modi or RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat are party to this decision.

He also agreed that unfortunately the BJP calls the shots in the RSS today when actually RSS should be in a dominating position.

He also dismissed the impact of the move from the headquarters at Nagpur to appoint new members on all the committees and revise the Goa Vibhag, which was functioning under Konkan Prant.

“We won’t tolerate any meddling into the affairs of RSS in Goa till election is held”, stated Velingkar, who is determined to defeat the BJP.

However, he expressed shock over his close colleague Ratnakar Lele separating from their movement suddenly.

Lele has suddenly split from the group, claiming that he is the disciplined soldier of the Sangh and does not agree with the decision to detach from Konkan Prant and form separate Goa Prant.

Reacting to Lele’s claim that 80 per cent RSS activists are against this decision, Velingkar says: “Let’s wait and watch. Time will tell you who has what strength.”

So their movement turned political now? Velingkar will be now the new Hegdewar of the new Goa prant? Nice. He can also incorporate the opportunistic Uday Bhemro and his hang into his prant.
