Goa will lead BJP Vijay Rath of 2019 by winning 27 seats: Shah
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 20 August 2016 20:41 ISTBharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah has claimed his party would come back to power in Goa, this time raising its tally to 27.
He has also said that BJP would need to win all the five state Assembly elections to ensure victory at the centre in 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
Shah addressed a booth level party workers’ meeting at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium to kick off the election campaign for the forthcoming Goa Assembly election.
“Nobody can stop the BJP to come back to power at the centre in 2019 if we win all the five state Assembly polls”, said Shah.
States of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa would go for elections together, in phases, to elect new Assemblies by March.
He also expressed confidence that Goa would lead the Vijay Rath to win the Parliament by winning the state for the second time.
The national president also said that BJP has always come back to power more than twice in several states – 4 times in Gujarat, MP and Chhattisgarh while third time in Rajasthan.
“I am confident of winning Goa election once again by raising our present tally of 21 because we play politics of performance”, said Shah.
Interestingly, other BJP leaders who spoke earlier, had predicted winning 26 seats in the next election.
He came to the meeting venue after visiting Mahalsa temple at Verna and then meeting Governor Mridula Sinha.
He left for the national capital at night.
