Is Babush facing more medical tests and less custody probe?

The police custody probe of former minister Babush Monseratte seems to be more at the hospital and less in the custody.

He has been facing series of medical tests, including his psychological tests as well as the DNA test, in the charge of raping a minor girl he is facing.

The police have conducted DNA tests of both, Babush as well as the victim girl from Nepal, to ascertain whether it matches the evidence they have found.

Though the incident of alleged rape took place in the first week of March, police have attached the blood-stained bed sheet from Babush’s farm house as well as the blood-stained clothes of the girl.

While Babush flatly denies the charge of alleged rape, the DNA test would establish whether it matches with the blood-stained clothes and the bed sheet.

The report is expected to arrive in a fortnight from the national forensic laboratory at Hyderabad.

Babush, along with his MLA wife Jennifer, has also faced psychological tests conducted by the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour to find out his sexual behaviour.

The test was recommended by the GMC after finding wound marks on his chest, which is suspected to be self-hurting exercise the political heavyweight enjoys.

On the other hand, the police are also probing into the actual age of the victim girl, though the FIR states she is 16-year old.

Sources revealed to goanews.com that the girl has two documents – one paper from Nepal and the Adhar Card of India, which do not match to establish her age.

The bone test conducted at the Goa Medical College hospital by taking girl’s X-ray could tentatively establish her age, police sources told goanews.com.

Meanwhile, the Children’s Court today extended remand of Rosy Ferros by two more days.

She had surrendered to the police on 7th May.

Ferros allegedly acted as an agent to sell the girl to Babush for a sum of Rs 50 lakh.

Babush is facing charges of buying a minor girl, sedating her with drinks and then raping her.
