Goa CM more worried about terror threat ‘leaks’ than the threat
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 07 April 2016 22:49 ISTMore than getting fully equipped to tackle terror threat, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar wonders how intelligence news of terror threat leaks out to the media.
He has also dismissed the claim of outgoing police chief that Goa lacks required infrastructure and network to deal with the terror threat.
“I really wonder from where the news of intelligence inputs leaks out when such things are known only to the home minister and the police chief”, said Parsekar, also Goa’s home minister.
The media asked for his reaction to outgoing DGP T N Mohan’s comment that Goa is not fully equipped to tackle terror threats.
The DGP’s comment came on the heels of the terror alert by Punjab police that three heavily armed Pakistani terrorists may target Goa, Delhi or Mumbai.
Parsekar flayed Mohan’s statement asking why he did not make such statement during his tenure for the last two years.
“Such statements are made only when they leave the state. I have always sanctioned everything asked for the security of the state”, claimed Goa CM.
According to him, Goa is fully equipped to tackle any kind of terror threat.
