Fr Bismarque death: DNA report finds no blood on the vest

The most-awaited DNA report regarding the death of Fr Bismarque Dias has finally arrived. The vest, suspected to be his, does not have blood stains. They are simple red marks.
Crime Branch SP Kartik Kashyap said no blood has been found on the vest, which was found little away from the river where Fr Bismarque’s body was found floating on 7 November.
“The red marks were not blood stains on the vest”, said SP Kashyap.
However, the police want the panel of doctors now to establish the cause of Fr Bismarque’s death.
“We will send all the reports to the panel of doctors who conducted the post-mortem to establish the cause of death”, said SP Kashyap.
The whole controversy over Fr Bismarque’s death had taken a dramatic twist after some village boys found a vest almost 10 days after his death.
The social activists had said they would rule out of the possibility of murder of Fr Bismarque only after getting the DNA report, matching it with the blood stains on the vest.
The DNA report received today from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory at Hyderabad has however said there were no blood stains found on the vest.
The issue of matching the stains with Fr Bismarque’s blood thus did not arise.

Goa had witnessed state-wide protests, from candle light vigils to demonstrations during IFFI, suspecting that the priest-turned-activist was murdered and did not drown in the river near his St Estevam village.
Fr Bismarque had gone for a swim post-midnight on 6 November, after having pint beers along with two boys at Babhol Manos since the evening of 5 November.
His dead body was found floating in the river next day morning.
Fr Bismarque was involved in several social issues, from CRZ violations to the golf course coming up in Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s Mandrem constituency.
Soon after his body was recovered, the social activists had demanded a second autopsy, alleging that the first autopsy had not identified several injuries on his body.
However, the second autopsy stated that all the injuries are post-death, caused due to aquatic creatures.
The most-awaited viscera report then arrived on 11 December, which did not show any material in the body that would lead to the possibility of murder.
Following this, the diatom report from CFSL was received on 26 December, which once again established drowning while ruling out murder.
The police had sent three exhibits – the sternum, lungs and the water sample where his dead body was found floating.
The diatoms of all the three exhibits were found to be identical, thus establishing a fact that he drowned in the river and was not murdered somewhere else and dumped in the river.
Alleging that the Old Goa police were trying to hush up the alleged murder, social activists and organisations had demanded that the probe be handed over to the Crime Branch of Goa police.
The crime branch, based on all these reports – from two autopsies, viscera report, diatom report and now the DNA report – have not been able to establish that Fr Bismarque was murdered.
What remains now is the lie detector test of one of the boys who had accompanied Fr Bismarque on a river on the night of 5-6 November.
Meanwhile, the dead body of Fr Bismarque still lies in the GMC morgue as his family members were awaiting a thorough probe into his death.
All such reports of Govt will be rejected. Aready some people have already conducted "investigstion" and passed "judgement". This issue will not be allowed to be forgotten so soon based on govt reports. Some people will continue to harp on the theme people are supreme. So pass the issue to people and just watch helplessly.
