Laxmibai, MLA Vijay's mother and Ravindrabab's sister, expired

Laxmibai Sardesai, sister of late Ravindra Kelekar and mother of MLA Vijay Sardesai, expired today early morning.
She was 84.
Laxmibai, wife of Dr Jaiwantrao Sardesai, was known to be a true Gandhian.
As Vijay is out of station and rushing back by tomorrow evening, the funeral would be held on Sunday.
Laxmibai’s life had a great impact on her children – renowned writer late Madhavi Sardesai, Dr Savita Kerkar and Vijay Sardesai.
The whole family of Kelekar, including Ravindrabab, brother Sumant Kelekar and Laxmibai, lived as Gandhians.
She had studied at Vinoba Bhave's Ashram in Vardha and Ravindranath Tagore’s Shantiniketan.
Nandalal Bose, disciple of Ravindranath and one of the pioneers of Indian modern art, was her Guru in painting.
Late Madhavi Sardesai, her daughter, carried ahead her Gandhian legacy in its true spirit.
She is a mother-in-law of Goa’s renowned painter Dr Subodh Kerkar and Lokmat’s Goa editor Raju Nayak.
