Marathon Kavya Hotra in Goa to enter Guinness book
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 22 July 2015 18:27 ISTGoa’s Kala Academy is all set to enter the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of World Records with unique event – 48 hours of marathon presentation of poetry in various Indian languages.
It’s beginning tomorrow at 12 noon, to end on 25 July.
Vishnu Wagh, chairman of Kala Academy and a poet himself, has organised this mega event, inviting eminent poets from all over India.
Besides local poets in Konkani, Marathi, Hindi and English, he said poets have been invited from different parts of the country to participate in the non-stop poetry recitals, to be held simultaneously at different venues.
The eminent national poets include Hindi poets Varun Chaturvedi, Sushil Seul, Subrokant Sharma and Monic, Punjabi poet Jaswant Deed, Surjot Jaj, Dr Gurucharan Kaur, Artinder Sandhu, Nepali poet Kaling Pong, Bhima Rai, Thika Bhai, Sudhir Chatri, Lekhnath Chatri, Manoh Bhaoti, Subhash Rai, Odiya poet Babimala Singh, Marathi poet Kishor Kadam, Arun Mhatre, Sambhaji Bhagat and others.
Gazal poets have also been invited.
In fact a special bus has been arranged for poets to travel from Mumbai.
The event would be inaugurated at the hands of Konkani and Marathi literary legends of Goa – Uday Bhembre and Gopalrao Mayekar.
The political dignitaries, including chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar, will grace the occasion only for the concluding ceremony on 25 July.
