38 industries coming with 6500 jobs: Parsekar
PTI, PANAJI | 08 May 2015 22:09 ISTGoa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said that 38 proposals for investment in the state have been cleared which will generate 6,500 jobs.
Parsekar told reporters that the industrial investment in the state also includes two marinas in Zuari river.
The local fishermen have objected to the marinas, fearing to lose their livelihood.
"We have allowed marinas with the condition that they should get all the required clearances," the chief minister said.
The investment proposals which have been cleared, include investments in pharma, manufacturing and tourism sector, he added.
With the total 38 proposals, the investment of Rs 2,138 crore has been approved which will generate 6,500 jobs, Parsekar said.
The state government, he said, has made it mandatory that the industries should have at least 80 per cent of its total employees from Goa.
The chief minister said that the state government also intends to promote the investment in the Information Technology (IT) sector.
"We have organised IT conference on May 22 and 23 when state IT investment policy will also be released," he said.
The BJP-led government has also identified two locations ? Tuem in north Goa and Chimbel near Panaji to set up electronic city and IT Park respectively.
Good progress, although very little. 6500 is a menial total. Most interesting is the statement that 80% should be from Goa. How will this be decided? today anybody and everybody becomes a goan... goa is represented at various levels by outsiders but goans....This is a very minor voice voicing this concern, but everytime there is an opportunity, there are lot of non goans who are willing to be goans, and why not when there are politicians who support these for their vote bank politics- case in fact is when a local MLA went all the way to Vasco (along with a politico from our neighboring state) which is not even his constituency to support all those displaced by the road project.
KITEM AMCHEM KARM EH DIGAMBARA DIGAMBARA!!!
Goa Government should make Single Window Clearance for Businessmen to get Licenses. License should get within one month. Giving Commercial License within one month means generating employments. This will reduce the burden on Government to create employment. Unemployment will reduce to single figure with the Single Window Clearance to get Commercial Licenses.
