Margao court issues warrant to search Parrikar's Delhi house to arrest Mickky
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 22 April 2015 15:57 IST
Margao JMFC Court today issued a fresh warrant, this time to search for Goa’s ex-minister Mickky Pacheco at the official residence of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Aires Rodrigues had approached the JMFC today, claiming that Mickky is seen frequently at Parrikar’s official Delhi residence but the police are not searching that house.
Accordingly, Margao JMFC Boscro Roberts today issued a fresh warrant of arrest to search for Miccky at the official residence of Parrikar, at 10, Akbar Road in Delhi.
A team of Goa police had earlier gone to Delhi to arrest him, after the JMFC Margao had issued a warrant but had returned empty handed.
After seven-day period to arrest him had ended, the JMFC had extended the period by five more days.
The Supreme Court on 30 March had upheld the lower court order to sentence him six-month jail term for assaulting an electrical engineer of Goa Government in 2006.
Rodrigues, who had earlier sought arrest warrant against Mickky by approaching first the high court and then the JMFC Margao, had once again approached the lower court to get him declared as proclaimed offender.
Mickky has been avoiding arrest while wating for his review petition to come up for hearing.
The news reaching here states that the apex court today took up the petition and has fixed its hearing next week.
Apparently, Mickky has still not received any relief on the earlier order from the Supreme Court.
