Panaji allows film shooting only on weekends
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 12 July 2013 22:10 ISTFilm shooting in capital city of Panaji in Goa on the main roads would be now largely allowed only on weekends.
Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has issued fresh guidelines for shooting in the capital city, after an incident of bouncers hired by a film unit manhandling social activist Dr Oscar Rebello.
The CCP has now restricted shooting on the main roads only on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday.
Permission for shooting on interior roads on any other day would be given only after inspection and analysis of the size of the film shoot.
Any blockade of roads would be allowed only with the co-ordination and express consent of traffic police.
The CCP has also earmarked six locations for parking of vehicles of the film unit, as these vehicles were creating traffic hazard.
These are below Mandovi bridge, old GMC building service road, lane adjacent to main municipal garden, Miramar circle, lane adjacent to Kala Academy and parade ground at Campal.
The CCP has also warned the film units from trespassing into private properties and disturbing privacy of private residences.
Besides taking care of public monuments as well as public properties and footpaths, the CCP has also volunteered to provide two sweepers and two trolley bins to segregate the waste.
Good for Panaji people as they can enjoy the shooting on weekends because of holidays..
