AIMTC urges Rajnath for rollback of Goa's entry tax

AIMTC meets BJP chief Rajnath Singh
The All India Motor Transport Congress has now urged BJP national president Rajnath Singh to advise Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar to roll back the entry fee it has imposed on vehicles coming from outside Goa.
Singh, as per the press note released by the AIMTC, has assured the delegation to talk to Parrikar to work out an amicable solution.
The AIMTC delegation, led by its president Bal Malkit Singh, met Singh today morning.
In a memorandum submitted to Singh, the AIMTC stated that the artificial barriers like entry tax are against the basic tenet of national integration.
The AIMTC has stated that it is not against the revenue generating exercise, but not by targeting the road transport sector.
“We have been advising the Goa government to revise its VAT structure lowered earlier”, said Singh.
I don’t understand what ‘national integrity’ these AIMTC are talking about with Rajnath Singh?
Do they think they are much better scholarly Economists and therefor they think they can advise how to run Goa government including addition or deletion of VAT? Instead of praising an attempt of abolishing VAT on petrol by Goa government, they are advising Goa government to re-implement VAT on petrol! Why should Goans tolerate such unethical demand from these AIMTC freaks? Are they not aware of huge taxes, collected in one way or other, by other states of India? Are those tax collections ‘Okay’ for them? Do these TAXES by other states not amount to disturbance in so called National Integrity?
Why are they not talking to ‘Manmohan Singh’ or for that matter with Sonia on this issue?
My frank opinion, Goa government must not bend to such unwanted demands from associations like AIMTC and worst come to worst, the word ‘entry tax’ may be ‘RE-TERMED or RE-PHRASED’ to meet all India requirements or as is implemented by other states. But in no case ‘tax’ collection from vehicles entering Goa should be stopped.
