EU Film Fest opens; 'Celebrates Women'
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 19 April 2013 21:35 ISTThe 18th edition of 12-day European Union Film Festival began in Goa today with an opening Swedish Film “Beyond,” directed by Pernilla August.
With a central theme Celebrating Women, the film fest would screen 24 films in 12 days, to conclude on 30 April.
The films would be screened at 2.30 pm and 5 pm, at Audi I of Maquinez Palace at the ESG complex in Panaji.
The inaugural held today evening was graced by Fredrika Ornbrant, Consul General of Consulate General of Sweden,
António Sabido Costa, Consul General of the Portuguese Consulate in Goa, ESG vice chairman Vishnu Wagh, ESG CEO Prasad Lolayekar, Chief Executive Officer, Kala Academy vice chairman Sushant Khedekar, Vice Chairman Kala Academy and ESG general manager Shripad Naik were also present on the dais.
Ornbrant said the opening film of the festival is an award winning Swedish Film.
“This is an initiative to build deeper ties with India”, she said.
