Change BJP's name to Parakiya Janata Party: KBM

Konkani Bhasha Mandal president Prashant Naik has heavily criticized chief minister Manohar Parrikar for his decision on medium of instruction.

He has suggested that the name of Bharatiya Janata Party be now changed to Parakiya Janata Party.

“I cannot believe that the party, which claims to have emerged through a nationalist forum like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, takes such an anti-national decision”, he commented.

According to Naik, similar to a Black Day when former chief minister Digambar Kamat had decided to give grants to English medium primary schools, even today should be called yet another Black Day.

Naik recalled that Parrikar was part of their agitation led by Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch, which had vehemently opposed to give salary grants to any English medium private primary schools, including the ones run by the Church institutions.

He said the BBSM should now meet immediately to chalk out the future course of action since the government decision is not in tune with its demands.

Arvind Bhatikar, another BBSM leader, also said that the decision – if it is true – means that the government has rejected our demand.

Church has not violated the law. Since the previous govt, had sense in accepting the fact that English medium schools should be given grants knowing its importance , church had moved back to its original mode of teaching. Now Parikar 's govt decision also is in sync with the previous govt. so what is ur problem ? It is polictics which make the common people dance since we common people are at the mercy of the rulers who change laws as per their whims and fancies at our cost. WE COMMON PEOPLE PAY AND ALSO HAVE TO SUFFER.

There is absolutely no clarity in the govt. decision. Why reward Church for violating law and moving to English primary? If a party wanting to start english primary goes to court saying why only selectively church should be given grants inspite of violating the law and they not be given grants, the court will throw this policy into the dustbin. Also, why apply the UN principle on mother tongue education selectively? If indeed some children's future is in jeopardy because they moved to English due to church's stand --- something I do not agree with --- then after these children graduate, church schools grants should be stopped. All in all, this govt is completely confused and there is no logic that can explain this hotchpotch of a policy.
