FIR against Madkaikar & 2 ex-transport directors
PTI, PANAJI | 04 April 2012 18:31 ISTCrime Branch of Goa police will be filing first information report (FIR) against a former transport minister Pandurang Madkaikar, two bureaucrats, and others in the high-security registration plates (HSRP) contract scam in the next two days.
Transport Ministry has referred the case of alleged illegalities in the award of contract for HSRP to Crime Branch.
Transport Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said that Crime Branch will file FIR in the next two days.
The previous government had cancelled the contract for installation of HSRPs on the vehicles registered in Goa, awarded to Delhi-based Shinmit Utsch.
Sources said that FIR names former Transport Minister Pandurang Madkaikar, currently a congress legislator, and bureaucrats Mihir Vardhan and Sandip Jacques, who once headed the department.
Saying that Crime Branch had been given a free hand, Dhavalikar said "the guilty will be punished as per the law."
The government has also started the process of issuing a fresh tender. Bids will be invited online.
As per the Supreme Court directive, HSRPs would be mandatory after June 30.
The Goan public have constantly warned the Congress Leaders,in forums such as this and other comments elsewhere too,of the corrupt nature of Mr Pandurang Madkaikar and Sandip Jacques..It is unbelievable & shocking, that Mr Madkaikar has made such a huge fortune in a short space of time.He is worth (finiancially)far more than even the President of the U.S.A.and a combination of many Senators. Hopefully St Francis Xavier , the Patron Saint of Goa ,revered & respected by Hindus,Muslims & Christians alike , will now unleash his displeasure at Mr Madkaikar for the desecration of Old Goa,its Holy sites and for his total disrespect for a |World heritage site / Centre. While Mr Madkaikar lives in a Palatial Mansion amongst several others too, he has created and made Old Goa into a slum Dwelling. Perhaps he is a poorly uneducated person and civility & modern civilisation has passed him by.The sooner he sits in a Jail, the better for all Goa.Scums & scumbags must be removed, for Goa to progress. He won the recent elections by corruptly bribing voters Rs 2000 per person and also offering other material goodies and promises.
