Oscar gheraoed over Canacona; Fatorda-Mormugao-Sanvordem still hanging

War over Canacona ticket heated up today with supporters of Canacona aspirant Isidore Fernandes gheraoing party’s election in-charge Oscar Fernandes and Sudhakar Reddy.
They were demanding ticket for their leader Isidore.
The tangle over Canacona, Fatorda, Mormugao and Sanvordem has still not been resolved.
While BJP MLA Vijay Pai Khot has been strongly lobbying for Canacona ticket through chief minister Digambar Kamat, Vijay Sardesai has been desperately waiting for the high command to clear his Fatorda ticket.
Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi has apparently directed to allot at least one seat to the Youth Congress.
The two YC aspirants are GPYC president Pratima Coutinho from Fatorda and former GPYC president Sankalp Amonkar from Mormugao.
Mormugao workers however have been demanding the seat for Saifullah Khan, as a representation to the Muslim community.
Sanvordem has also been kept on hold to find a Muslim candidate there, if not Mormugao.
“We will definitely give one ticket to the Muslim community”, said Oscar Fernandes at a press conference today.
Is getting ticket the first step towards serving the exploited masses? Or is it the first step towards grabbing the opportunity to make wealth for next ten generations?
Will the masses continue to trade their votes for petty gains to give the future of their kids in corrupt hands?
