Revolts begin in both Cong & BJP

Sameer Salgaoncar & Naresh Sawal

With candidates getting declared, revolts have begun in both the Congress and the BJP, to contest as independents.

Sameer Salgaoncar for Mandrem, Sanjay Bandekar from Canacona and Naresh Sawal from Bicholim today resigned from the Congress.

Victoria Fernandes in St Cruz had already declared to field her son Rudolph as an independent. She is expected to quite Congress along with her son and thousands of supporters.

Pravin Zantye is planning to resign since Mayem is certainly going to the NCP, due to alliance with the Congress.

On the other hand, Vithu Morajkar in Pernem and Prakash Shankar Velip in Quepem are on the verge of quitting the BJP.

While the BJP has already declared Rajendra Arlekar as their candidate in Pernem, Quepem has been allotted to the MGP. Both appear to be in a mood to contest as independents.

Salgaoncar was strong contender in Mandrem, but former BJP MLA Dayanand Sopte has already been declared the Congress candidate there.

Sawal is still lobbying for the BJP ticket since former BJP MLA Rajesh Patnekar, who had joined the Congress earlier, has been declared the Congress candidate.

Victoria has quit since Babush Monseratte has succeeded in getting Congress ticket in her St Cruz constituency. He is trying ticket of Taleigao, his home constituency, for his wife Jennifer.

Both the Congress and the BJP, till now, have declared only 22 seats each, though not similar.

With declaration of all the seats coming by a couple of days, there could be more revolts in both the parties, some of whom may also contest as independents.

If all the family members get elected...the meetings of the cabinet or the Legislature assembly could be conveniently held in some family member's house....No need of Porvorim...

The problem in Goa is that we Catholics trust the Congress party. I think the BJP will not sell the soul og Goa like the Congress party and the thieves like Babush, Churchill and the Ranes. They take the Catholics for granted and we are fools to vote for them. My Grandfather fought for liberation of Goa from the Portuguese and now he must be rolling in his grave. We have to get these thieves out of power and hang them at panjim market.

In times gone by and well documented in Indian history, were many Dynastic wars. This divisive rule, presented the Bristish & Portuguese to eventually rule supreme in India for hundred of years. With so many family members in the future Legistlature, there are sure to be a lot of "fireworks", blackmail and Legislative insecurities.Lets hope Goa will be ruled by Goans and not some controlling freaks from New Delhi.

How many Alemaos, how many Ranes, how many Naiks, How many Dhawlikars, how many Monserrates, how many Madkikars.....A whole galore of Dynasty rulers are ready to jump the bandwagon to obtain permit to rule or loot or plunder or is it to --serve the deprived masses--- for the next five years? How cleverly have they managed to convert a democracy to Monarchy.....

Goa will soon be the first place on Mother earth, where a "Peoples Legislature" will be replaced & called a "FAMILY MEMBERS LEGISLATURE". A "DEFECTORS LEGISLATURE " may also be an appropriate name that coud be added.

Loyalties are proven when the loyal are neglected... lets us see how many are really loyal now that the tickets are given.

As BJP has fielded strong cadidates in Vasco, Mormugao and cortalim contituency. MGP has fielded considerably weak candidate in Dabolim contituency(Mr Pratap Mardolkar). BJP workers feels that they will be asked to fight the lost batte in Dabolim.
