Assembly poll likely by 26 Feb

Assembly election appears to be almost certain by end of February, mostly on 26.

The indication is coming from the sources close to the Election Commission of India while almost all the parties have geared up to face the fresh Assembly poll.

The announcement, in this regard, however could be made as soon as the winter session ends.

The notification however would be issued by the first week of January.

The ECI, as per the sources, is planning to hold elections together of five states – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa.

The longest among it would be in UP, probably in four to five phases.

The ECI is reportedly planning to complete the whole process by March first week, before examinations start.

Though the term of Goa and UP end by May, the ECI believed to have been thinking of holding elections in these states early, along with three other states.

In addition, Goa’s state election commission has communicated to the ECI that they plan to hold panchayats elections by May.

No political party in Goa wants to hold panchayats elections before the Assembly election as the village politics then severely affects almost all the candidates.

In view of this, the Congress has already started gearing up for the forthcoming poll.

Under the pretext of 50 years of Goa Liberation on 19 December, the ruling Congress has planned a massive rally, to be addressed by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The election monitoring committee chairperson Oscar Fernandes has already arrived in Goa today while J S Brar, the high command observer left for Delhi.

The BJP, on the other hand, has also made a trip to the national capital to discuss the list of candidates and also to finalise the national speakers for its election rallies.

If you love your motherland over our own personal greed...do not vote for the corrupt....do not vote for those who take cuts and commissions in every deal, ...do not vote for those whose assets have multiplied in so short time in power....do not vote for those who have helped in destroying their own motherland by indiscriminate mining...do not vote those who have looted enough and now want to bring in dynasty rule to allow their kit and kin to continue loot after them......
