Digambar survives, crisis postponed after session

Chief minister Digambar Kamat survived once again with the high command observers of both the Congress and the NCP postponing the political crisis after the five-day Assembly session, beginning from today.

The meeting held in Mumbai of the high command observers with chief minister Kamat and Goa PCC chief Subhash Shirodkar decided not to oppose the finance bills that could result in fall of the coalition government.

NCP leader Praful Patel told PTI after the meeting that all the issues will be discussed again on March 31 in a coordination committee meeting. He said that the NCP will support congress on finance bill for the forthcoming assembly session.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar is expected to attend the coordination committee meeting, which will thrash out the strained relations between the coalition partners.

The political drama, demanding apologies from two Congress leaders, had shifted to Mumbai yesterday.

The G7 rushed to Mumbai to have a meeting with civil aviation minister Praful Patel and Binsale. The meeting started at around 7 pm.

Patel and Binsale then met separately Congress observer B K Hariprasad as well as Kamat and Shirodkar at around 9 pm. The meeting went on until 11.45 pm, without resolving a single issue.

According to sources, the joint meeting could not reach any consensus, except deciding unanimously to postpone the crisis, without disturbing the existence of the coalition government.

The G7 was determined on toppling the government by opposing finance bills on flimsy issues like demanding apologies from PWD minister Churchill Alemao and deputy speaker Mauvin Godinho.

Both had accused the     NCP leaders in their respective constituencies in the background of the Zilla panchayat elections held this month.

In the Assembly session, the supplementary demands are expected to be passed on 23 March while vote on account bill would be presented on 27 March, after the chief minister presents the budget on 25 March.

The issue had actually begun with Kamat's decision to drop transport minister Sudin Dhawalikar of the MGP from the cabinet, to accommodate his party colleague Pandurang Madkaikar, on 26 February, due to latter's alleged involvement with bomb-blast fame Sanatan Saunstha.

The plan had to be deferred last minute due to intervention and objection by Patel. Since then, the coalition partners are on loggerheads.

The common man knows that all such gimmicks are only to get additional leverage in the power equations and additional funds to spend for creating more opportunity for more commissions!

This group of G7 will shortly start to fight among themselves and will again split to G6 than G5, G4 and so on and finally you will see them in a DIFFERENT PARTY. The MEN in BLACK Glasses & GOLD Earing are only trying to show their MONEY POWER and every monsoons they come out and hop like BEBE's because they always don't feel comfortable at one place. Govt. should be formed by KEEPING these G2 out and later watch them....... they will BEG for INCLUSION in any Surviving Party or else you will find one sitting at Panjim Patto and the other at Sernabatim Tinto. Mr. Monseratte, you have a background link to a well reputed Miranda Famil of Ribandar Fondvem. At least leave some respect for that family because nobody from them is like you. Don't worry about Micky Mouse, I will take care of him very shortly.

Vivek do you think that people are really going to do that? Mark my words, these very people will have the same rascals re-elected again in the forthcoming elections. Just Rs. 500/- will buy of the stupid and ignorant people of Goa. No one will vote for an independent candidate and have a cabinet of only independent candidates. Reason? They can only offer truth and proper service without looting and not protecting their voters against the wrongs done. And above all they won’t be able to give the people 500 rupees. It is pointless to explain anything to the people of Goa, I mean the voters. They fail to understand that they are carrying a very powerful tool against the politicians and that tool is their valuable vote to decide the future. When the people are not done any favours for some time, they will grumble and when the elections come it will be “back to the pavilion” – Menino (Valpoi)

Goans are fedup of these dirty politicians' dirty game plans because of their selfish politics. They are least bothered about Goans and interest of Goa. They only want to settle their personal scores for their personal benefits. Now Goans should learn something from this dirty politics and teach them a lesson by electing totally new faces in next election.
