Won't allow mining beyond sustainable capacity: CM

The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government plans to reduce its dependency on mining revenue while also restricting mining activity to sustainable capacity.
Chief minister Manohar Parrikar today told media persons that he would not allow mining beyond sustainable capacity.
Unlike 55 million tonnes of mining taken place last year (basically due to illegal mining), Parrikar said he would restrict it to 30 to 40 million tonnes per year.
Regarding mining revenue, Parrikar observed that it is even otherwise reducing.
“Last year it reduced from Rs 1200 crore to 730 crore”, he pointed out.
Though the chief minister did not elaborate upon the budget exercise, he envisages growth rate of almost 25 per cent.
“My main aim is to reduce the debt ration. The additional resource mobilization would take care of it”, he said.
Nobody wants illegal mining, but legal mining is very very essential, because lot of people invested their money for trucks and machines and many families dependent on mining work for their livelihood. Hope Mr. CM take fast
decession in this regard.
Get the budget deficit reduced by half! This is a challenge for the new government. Let's give a lesson on how to manage our own people and resources.
I guess the first thing Mr. C.M should do is spread the income generating oppurtunities evenly so there are people who are having more than one truck to be acquired by the govt. to lease it to the true Goan who is looking for an oppurtunity to do a living (which is very lucrative more than 100k /month)especially those who are not skilled enough to take a decent job ,these will kill the greed of the few greedy truck owners owning 5-6+ trucks,secondly the transport contracting has to be done through the minning deparment itself so that they have the right to disburse the trips to the concern tuck owners from only that particular area these will minmise the trafficjams and also in most cases the companies are always threathened by respective villagers to grant them the permission to ply their 4th or 5th truck or 4th or 5th different companies assuranse ,these will kill the greed of the filthy rich ,MLAs ,wanna be MLA and will keep them at their limit and hence wont try to find out Chinese ore shopper,and first and foremost thing the CM should do is to find out if the victims of the minning ore or the people directly affected with the ore transportation are genuinly copensated or benifited ,at least the one who are having their houses very next to the roads invoved with thousands of trucks plying a day so that there is no Human Right issue and road blockades.
*Goa should have a clear mining policy as to how much and what can be mined in a calendar year.
*Mining companies should be made to protect environment and pay for any damages caused to environment, public property, people.
*The authorities, mainly the mining department, should be efficient and regulate the mining activities promptly.
*Lolienkar, the current mining dpt. director, is a stooge of the powerful and dangerous mining cartel and must be booted out.
*Heads must start rolling out with respect to the mining scam.

Much hype has been created regarding mining by press as well as politicians and the confused public has shown the affect in the current polls. But firstly does the govt has the means to track this? Does the general public know what is illegal and legal mining? The public is blindly. (Ok the press is saying illegal mining illegal mining and the ignorant public thinks that they have risen against illegal mining)
The fact is nothing will change as this has been going on since ages and we all know who they are, the Dempos, Vendata sesa, salgaonkars, bandekars, timblos, chowgules, along with any govt congress or bjp ruling the state. The fact is who ever wins the election is the winner. Poor goan public.
