EC agrees, PM to address rally to 'save' Ranes

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address a public meeting in north Goa tomorrow as part of election campaign for the March 3 assembly polls following clearance from the Election Commission.
Yesterday, EC officials in Goa had said that permission had not been granted to Prime Minister's rally as it was being held on the government-run college's ground at Sankhalim village, 40 kms from here.
However, talking to PTI here today, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary B K Hariprasad said that the Election Commission of India has given its nod to the event, which was earlier caught in uncertainty.
"There is no objection from anywhere now. Last night, we received a no-objection-certificate from the Election Commission," Hariprasad said, adding that the ground has been approved, considering the security concerns.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer Narayan Navti had told reporters yesterday that the Commission had refused the state directorate of higher education to allow usage of ground for political meetings. According to him, properties of educational institutes, whether government, private, aided or unaided, could not be used for election campaign.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi had addressed a public rally in south Goa on February 26.

The article clearly misses anything about 'Saving Ranes'. Then why the headline??
When the local Electoral Officer had clearly rejected the venue of the Govt College, how is that the EC gave their permission....Is the permission a special favour flouting the normal rules to oblige Politicians placed at high positions?
The politicians ruling at the Centre need to answer a few questions. Is Goa an hen laying golden eggs because it gives thousands of crores of revenue to Centre....? Is it because of the huge Foreign exchange remittance by NRIs working in foreign countries or on ships...? Is it because of the huge mining plunder allowed so mercilessly at the cost of the State. How much part of this huge loot goes to the Politicians outside the State..?..? Dispite of drawing out so many benefits out of the State, why is the State ruled by proxy by the HC? Why are they giving so less Budgetary support for infrastructural development? Why has the corruption allowed to make the life of the common man miserably?
Unless the Politicians are bribed heavily, it is impossible to resort to such day light loot of natural resources of thousands of crores--so shamelessly...The common man has no doubt that such bribe is going on and may be huge chunks of the looted money also finds it's way in tax haven countries too...
