Nigerian's murder case almost cracked: CM

Goa police is expecting to crack down the murder case of a Nigerian, who was brutally killed in Parra village of Bardez taluka, near famous Calangute beach.
A Nigerian youth was reportedly stabbed to death on 30 October, after which his dead body was found on the road hardly 500 metres away from local Calangute BJP MLA Michael Lobo.
This had created sharp reaction with over 60 hefty Nigerians created a ruckus on 31 October morning by pulling out the dead body from the hearse van at Porvorim, while on the way to GMC for postmortem, and staged a road blockade, protesting the murder.
The action of Nigerians, who also smashed a police jeep, was subsequently condemned by all Goans while few Goans at Porvorim junction also bashed up some protesting Nigerians.
“We have almost identified who killed the Nigerian and they would be arrested in a couple of days”, chief minister Manohar Parrikar told the media persons today.
Parrikar, on the same day, had admitted that the murder was an outcome of a gang war of drug peddlers.
According to information, a gang of local drug peddlers had chased a Nigerian duo in the Parra market on 30 October with choppers and other deadly weapons, after which the duo ran away leaving their two wheeler on the road.
One of them was found murdered on the road next day.
The protesting Nigerians were complaining of Goans killing their colleague while demanding their immediate arrest.
Calangute MLA Lobo, on the other hand, had demanded that Nigerians living in Goa illegally be deported.
CM Parrikar had later announced that Nigerians living illegally in Goa would be deported within a month.
Though around 53 protesting Nigerians were arrested and remanded to judicial custody of Aguada jail for 14 days for creating ruckus, no arrest has still taken place either in the murder case or any drug trade.
