Minor raped by bus conductor; arrested

A 17-year minor girl was raped by a bus conductor at Tivim, the suburban area of Mapusa town.
Police have arrested Mahendra Kauthankar, the accused.
According to police, Kauthankar made friends with the victim and promises to get married to her.
He took her to the hilly area of Cansabhat in Tivim at around 9.30 pm, threatened her and then raped, as has been alleged by her elder sister.
The bus conductor has been booked under sections 354, 376 and 504 of IPC as well as section 8 of Goa Children’s Act.
