Assembly adjourned twice over CBI inquiry into drug nexus

The opposition, along with few members of the ruling Congress, today pressed very hard to hand over the drug nexus case to CBI. But chief minister Digambar Kamat simply declined to oblige.
The House was adjourned twice on the issue as the opposition members barged to the well of the House, demanding CBI inquiry.
Citing strictures passed by the high court order against the crime branch of Goa police inefficiency while handling the case, opposition leader Manohar Parrikar strongly demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI.
"How can police give justice to the investigation when the police officers themselves are involved in the drug nexus," asked Parrikar.
Parrikar also argued that the high court has made a mention of drug dealers' nexus with politicians and thus inquiry by an independent agency outside the state is necessary.
During the debate, Parrikar also made a revealation that he has seen a photograph of drug dealer Atala, along with the alleged politician's son.
Ravi's son Roy is alleged to have been involved in the drug nexus case.
Home minister Ravi Naik however has not been attending the session as he is presently hospitalized in Mumbai, due to illness.
While replying on his behalf, chief minister Kamat however praised the police department for taking sue motto action in the case and arresting their own colleagues involved in the case.
He also claimed that the detection rate in the drug seizure case was over 80 per cent and most of them have been convicted.
While opposition was not convinced with the CM's reply and stood on their legs, few ruling party members also joined them, embarrassing the chief minister.
These ruling party MLAs included Dayanand Narvekar, Agnel Fernandes and Victoria Fernandes of the Congress and Dipak Dhawalikar of the MGP.

What does not make sense here is Mr. Parrikar who says he saw a politician’s son with Atala and on the other hand he refuses to name the politician or his son. I just cannot guess what game is Parrikar upto. It looks like either he is trying to extort a handsome reward from the politician or that he is just bluffing the public. I think this is the right time to own up who he saw with Atala, so that case would get stronger grounds to be handed over to the CBI or NIA. Everybody is eager to know from Parrikar the name of the politician. Mr. Parrikar why are you so hesitant and reluctant to disclose the name? are you afraid of a defamation suite against you? Do not worry because of that as Radharao and Aires are busy to do that these days. At least Parriker has tried to do what is due from the opposition leader.What are the other NGOs doing? Why are they silent? What about the student bodies like ABVP? Is it not the duty of every right thinking person to demand CBI probe?
