Chief minister Manohar Parrikar paid rich tributes to the first Chief Minister of the state, late D B Bandodkar, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Along with Parrikar, at the Bandodkar memorial at Miramar, were his cabinet colleagues as well as former chief minister Shashikala Kakodkar, daughter of Bandodkar.
He later also garlanded the Bandodkar statue near the old secretariat complex.
Prominent among others included cabinet Ministers Francisco D’Souza, Sudin Dhawalikar, Laxmikant Parsekar, Dayanand Mandrekar as well as MLAs Vishnu Wagh, Lavu Mamledar and former MLA Babuso Gaonkar.
Top bureaucrats also attended the function including chief secretary Sanjay Srivastav, DGP Kishan Kumar as well as secretaries D. C. Sahoo, T.M. Balakrishnan and V.P. Rao.
Minister Sudin Dhawalikar, Pro-tem Speaker Mahadev Naik and Ponda MLA Lavu Mamledar, along with others, garlanded the bust of the late leader at Farmagudi.
Dude grow up!
Bandodkar was the first CM of Goa. he also provided decent administration, set up educational institutions, bridges, roads, etc. with just 2 ministers and no corruption. Besides, Bahusaheb was a man of masses.
Thank you Kangress for institutionalizing corruption in Goa.
Bandodkar did not sell Goa to some foreign country, he organized an opinion poll, which was defeated, he accepted the verdict and moved on...
You are still harboring those thoughts, and breeding hatred despite the issue being dead and gone.
Grow up man..
It is surprised to read about tributes to Mr.D.Bandodkar
leader and backdoor to merge Goa to Maharashtra.
Still people of Goa dreams about Bandodkar. If cleaver
and intellegent person who can answer my question.
Why not tributes opinion poll father Dr. Jack Sequire
who fights to keep Goa separate rather than ,merge
Goa to Maharashtra, he is real hero of this cause. Why
then tributes Goa leaders to Bandodkar. Shame goans
still no one remember Dr. Jack but most remember
traitor like Bandodkar.

I fully agree with the view expressed by Sanjay Kumar.
Dr Jack Sequira gave Goans separate identity. He deserves more tributes than Bhau Bandodkar.
