Rane CM, Philip Deputy
02 February 2005 00:11 IST Pratapsing Rane was sworn in as the chief minister at 11.30 tonight, along with independent MLA Philip Neri Rodrigues as his deputy.
Governor S C Jamir administered oath of office and secrecy to both of them in the presence of hundreds of people, who were waiting for four hours at the Raj Bhavan since evening.
The rest of the cabinet would be sworn in today, said Rane after the ceremony.
He also clarified that no separate trust vote would be taken immediately. “We will do it while presenting the budget on 31 March”, he said.
