When Aam Aadmi confronts Khaas Aadmi for wrong parking…

It was one fearless Aam Aadmi who came forward to teach a lesson to the Khaas Aadmi, who are creating traffic problems in the capital city of Panaji, by parking their Big cars as and where they like.

Valmiky Naik, the leader of Aam Aadmi Party, today staged a Dharna on the footpath in front of Tanishq showroom, located in a building across the Police Headquarters against the illegal act of the shop manager, who was parking his car right on the footpath.

Following abuses and even manhandling by the Tanishq employee Prahlad Singh Tomar and open threats to call up Goa’s IGP Sunil Garg, the traffic police had to tow away his vehicle when Naik started getting support of the enraged public.

Though Tomar has filed a counter complaint against Naik with false allegations, Naik says the full incident has been recorded on CCTV by the adjoining shop owner, providing enough evidence of what actually happened.

Valmiky Naik narrates the whole incident as follows:

“Despite many appeals to the traffic police to clamp the offending vehicle MP 09 CC 3820, it was parked almost daily on the footpath outside Tanishq showroom. The traffic police seemed least interested. I decided today to protest this inaction by sitting on the footpath behind the car until the police took action.

Within a few minutes, three employees of Tanishq came out and abused me and demanded I move off the footpath.

Then one of them, Prahlad Singh Tomar, tried to intimidate me by saying he will call "Sunil Garg", who I presume is the IGP of Goa.

Finally he approached me menacingly and threatened me with dire consequences. When I didn't budge, he grabbed my collar and dragged me away from the car.

I continued my peaceful agitation by remaining on the footpath and called on 100 to call the police, who arrived almost 20-25 minutes later.

But instead of taking my statement or finding out why I called, they were busy talking to others and entering Tanishq to enquire inside about the incident.

At one point, Tomar reappeared with a constable and made various malicious and false accusations. By this time, a large crowd had started gathering and Tomar disappeared from the scene.

Finally, after making sure the police had located him and had also towed the car off the footpath, I filed a complaint against Prahlad Singh Tomar at Panaji Town police station.

But to my shock, the police, despite knowing the entire incident, also accepted a false complaint against me filed by the same Prahlad, citing various serious sections under IPC.

Besides the obvious issue of Khaas Aadmi subjugating the Aam Aadmi, there are many other larger issues that come out of this incident, including the ever-worsening traffic and parking situation in Panaji, basic pedestrian safety, illegalities in construction permissions etc.”

AAP now plans to meet city residents and planning experts to discuss and address these issues and provide solutions to the appropriate authorities.

Dear Valmiki

Don't be surprised if you get implicated in false cases by the Police. In fact I'm surprised that they didn't arrest you immediately. Maybe it's because you're in politics and tomorrow maybe the Home Minister of Goa. Anybody else would have been arrested and jailed citing non bailable offences. You either have to have money or power or connections in which case you can get away with anything

Good action by AAP. Let them now undertake action against pavement vendors. Fish n fruit vendors and eateries have grabbed huge portion of city land and bus stands. I m sure they will also fight against road side permanent poors who set small gaddas then permanent shop n finally a mall. This has to be done before they start voting for AAP.
