ED interrogates Mohanty, 6 more summoned in Berger bribery case
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 04 September 2015 23:17 ISTFollowing Goa’s crime branch of Goa police, the central Enforcement Directorate is now going after all the accused in the Louis Berger bribery case.
It began with Satyakam Mohanty, former vice president of Louis Berger (India), who was interrogated today.
He was earlier arrested by the crime branch on 3 August and was released on bail on 17 August.
ED had started probing the money laundering angle of the Berger bribery case by raiding establishments of former chief minister Digambar Kamat and his close relatives.
The investigating agency probing economic offences had also interrogated Kamat’s brother-in-law Pinky Lawande.
Six more persons have also been summoned between 7 to 14 September by ED for interrogation.
They are hawala operator Raichand Soni, Traffic Engineer of Louis Berger Group Sanjay Jindal,
Salesman in Midland Connection Mukesh Bharati, operating manager of NJS Consultants Co Ltd Uday Kerkar, office manager of Louis Berger Inc Maladi Shivarama Prasad and director of Shah
Technical Consultants Pvt. Ltd Prashant Shah.
The ED of Goa has registered a case under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
