Berger's ex-official arrested by Goa police in bribery case

One more person is arrested in Louis Berger bribery case, but not a politician, an official of Louis Berger International Inc.
Sources at the crime branch of Goa police confirmed that Satyakam Mohanty, a past vice president of Louis Berger (India) has been arrested.
He is the second person arrested in the bribery case.
The first person arrested was A M Wachasundar, suspended project director of JICA project in Goa.
Louis Berger, the US-based consultancy firm of JICA’s water and sewerage project in Goa, had admitted before the US court that a Goa minister and government officials were paid huge bribes.
Since then, crime branch managed to get two former officials of Louis Berger depose before the magistrate, admitting giving bribes to two ministers – former chief minister Digambar Kamat and former PWD minister Churchill Alemao.
Both Kamat and Alemao however have been only interrogated by the police so far.
It appears that the police is gathering enough evidence before they are put behind the bars, if they can.
Kamat has flatly denied the charge, stating that he neither signed any file related to this matter nor any file ever came to him.
