Potpooja: 250 Goan delicacies & dynamic cooking time tables

Potpooja, a book of 250 authentic Goan recipes along with a dynamic time table of breakfast and food for five weeks, would be released on Sunday, 15th February in Margao.

A Konkani book, written by Smt Usha Waman Bale from Quepem, is published by Sanjana Publications from Sanguem.

“The book will help immensely in terms of the time table, which plans your breakfast as well as food for over 35 days”, says Dinesh Manerkar, the publisher.

According to him, the book would ease tension of majority of Goan households where the family has little time to think and plan out what to cook tomorrow.

The book contains time table of five weeks each of breakfast as well as vegetarian food, besides few weeks of fish  as well as other non-vegetarian Goan recipes.

“I have compiled unique recipes invented by my mother and grandmother in order to bring variety, especially in the vegetarian food”, says Mrs Bale, the writer of the book.

Sanjana Publications is also getting tremendous response for the experiment of online advance booking for the book through social media.

A special group ‘Potpooja’ made on the Facebook states that advance online booking provides almost 50 per cent discount at the rate of Rs 80 per copy.

“Many people have already asked for an English edition of the book and my manuscript is ready”, says Mrs Bale.

The book would be released by veteran retired teacher L Shridhar Bhat at a function scheduled on 15th February at Nagesh Garden in Margao at 5.30 pm.

Datta Damodar Naik, a veteran writer and thinker, would speak on the occasion on ‘Our Cuisine Culture.’

Mr Manerkar has appealed to the interested people to book copies of the unique book by sending an email to sanjanapublications2@gmail.com.
