Learn Konkani typing, join the Courts

Around 45 courts in Goa will soon have vacancies for the young candidates knowing Devanagari typing and having knowledge of both Konkani and Marathi.
The Goa bench of Bombay high court has directed all the lower courts to record statements of those who depose, in Konkani or Marathi, if they speak in that particular language.
The high court issued this instruction while hearing the case of infamous Samir Mapari murder case.
Public Prosecutor S R Rivonkar had argued in the court that the deposition by a witness in Konkani was not translated properly in English.
The system prevalent in the courts till date is that the judge translates the depositions into English, no matter in what language the witness or even others speak.
The new instruction by the high court will now open doors for Devanagari typists knowing both Konkani and Marathi.
Goa has around 44 courts, including the district and lower courts – 25 in the North and 19 in the South.
Except Dharbandora, each taluka has minimum one Judicial Magistrate First Class.
The maximum numbers of courts are situated in Margao – 11, followed by 9 in Panaji and 8 in Mapusa.
