No entry to Ram Sene, no curbs on pubs & bikinis: Parrikar

The BJP government in Goa has finally decided to follow its Congress predecessor, not to allow Pramod Muthalik to start a branch of Ram Sene in the tourist state.

Muthalik had earlier announced that he would start Ram Sene branch in Goa by September.

He had also claimed that chief minister Manohar Parrikar would be convinced in this regard.

Parrikar however today categorically assured in the Assembly that Ram Sene would not be allowed to start its branch in Goa.

The erstwhile Congress government had also taken a similar stand couple of years ago when Muthalik had made similar announcement.

Besides a written reply to BJP MLA Vishnu Wagh’s question in this regard, Parrikar today also assured the House ‘no entry’ to Ram Sene, when Congress MLA Aleixo Reginald Lourenco raised it.

However, Parrikar also stated that the government has not found any concrete evidence to prove that Muthalik is trying to create a communal divide in Goa, like Karnataka.

Muthalik was condemned throughout the country after his Ram Sene activists ransacked pubs in Mangalore and protested against the attire of girls.

In this regard, Parrikar made it clear to the House that no restrictions would be laid down to control pub culture as well as wearing bikinis on the beaches.

Muthalik’s opposition to pub culture and bikinis was echoed by PWD minister Sudin Dhawalikar, belonging to the MGP, but had later clarified that it is his personal opinion.

“The minister may have a personal opinion in this regard, but it is not a government policy to ban bikinis and control pub culture”, Parrikar reiterated in the House.

There is no change in government policy, he told Lourenco, whose Congress government had also taken a similar stand in this regard.

Good talk.

But i have a serious question which is in everyones mind

"WILL THERE BE A U-TURN AS USUAL?"

Somehow it makes me believe this is just a sweet talk to fool those salcete boys in your government ..

Well done Mr Parrikar.

We have enough of Goons in Goa to deal with, and do not need the "Karnatakan Goon" AKA Mr Muthalik to foist his crazy nonsense on us.

There are many Religious & ethnic wars going on in this world eg. Syria,Iraq. We do not need one in Goa .

Goa has been a harmonious State for centuries.

We do not need this "Karnatakan Goon" to bring discord.
