Pedne-kar rise for Mopa & Dabolim twin air ports

People of Pernem have now flexed up their muscles once again, forming ‘People for Mopa Airport’.
The PMA has decided to support both Dabolim and Mopa air ports.
Devendra Prabhudesai, a social activist and former student leader, was today unanimously elected convenor of PMA.
The Pernem Swabhimani Nagarik Samiti and Morjicho Ekvott had jointly organised a meeting in Morjim today in this regard.
“We will go all over Goa mobilising public opinion in support of Mopa air port”, Prabhudesai told goanews.com after the meeting.
The PMA also plans to meet all the Goa MPs as well as MLAs to mobile support.
Public meetings have already been planned for the next two Sundays – in Harmal on 29 June and in Parshem on 6 July to voice out their demand for Mopa air port.
“We will move all over Goa since it is not Pernem alone but whole Goa would benefit with Mopa air port”, said Prabhudesai.
He also clarified that the PMA is not against Dabolim but would in fact support retention of Dabolim air port even if Mopa comes up.
Today’s meeting also constituted an ad-hoc committee.
It consists of Leo Fernandes, Vasant Shetgaonkar, Dhananjay Shetgaonkar, Rohidas Arolkar, Pradip Naik, Sudhir Kannaik , Laxmikant Shetgaonkar, Rajendra Satelkar, Anant Shetgaonkar, Prasad Shahapurkar and Goa Shiv Sena Chief Ramesh Naik.
Mopa will not only close the Dabolim Airport but also Mopa will make Goans to go hungry with the Drought which will occur by losing the fertile land and farmers. Mopa will take huge fertile land, which will be very bad for Goa. The tragedy happened to the people of Khedernath can happened to the people of Goa, if Mopa starts. Stop Mopa. Save Goa.
