The crude oil tanker MT Pratibha Bheema, owned by close relatives of union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar, was today toed to the MPT harbour.

The tanker, belonging to Pratibha Shipping Co Ltd, has been lying off Goa coast for the last three months in an abandoned position.

It also had 11 crew members on it, probably going hungry as there was no enough food stock on the ship.

The ship was anchored nine nautical miles off Goa coast towards North side and the authorities had a tough time pulling it to the MPT harbour.

After it was noticed, chief minister Manohar Parrikar had ordered North Goa Collector to immediately pull it to the harbour in order to avoid disaster like River Princess during monsoons.

According to Parrikar, six such ships belonging to the same company have been lying in an abandoned position at different places in the Arabian Sea.

The information surfed on the internet revealed that MT Pratibha Bheema belongs toPratibha Shipping Co Ltd, owned by Sunil and Suhar Anandrao Pawar.

They were arrested in March by Chennai police as the grounded MT Pratibha Cauvery caused death of six crew members.
