3 MLAs may attend anti-Mopa rally

Three legislators having different political allegiance have reportedly confirmed attending tomorrow’s anti-Mopa rally in Margao.

Organisers of the rally – Goans Only for Dabolim – are also trying frantically to get environment and forest minister Alina Saldanha to attend the rally.

The legislators are Congressman Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, Goa Vikas Party MLA Caetan Silva and Fatorda’s independent MLA Vijay Sardesai.

Sources from among the organizers however confirmed that none of these politicians would be allowed to sit on the dais or speak at the rally.

“We have kept our movement non-political and thus want no politician to share the dais. They are however free to come and attend the rally”, one of the leaders told goanews.com.

The organizers however have sent positive signals to all the MLAs that they would be welcome at the rally.

Earlier, Caitu has attended one such meeting held in Benaulim while his leader Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco has also attended one meeting, but sitting in the crowd.

Organizers are however not sure whether Mickky would attend tomorrow’s rally.
