Cong urges CAG to probe BJP's misappropriation
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 03 May 2013 22:11 ISTWithin a day after the month-long Assembly session was over, the Congress has demanded with the Comptroller Auditor General of India to probe into illegal spending by the BJP government.
Congress spokesperson Sudip Tamankar has alleged large scale corruption in several government departments, including transport, PWD, Industrial Development Corporation and Entertainment Society of Goa.
According to Tamankar, singer Vaishali Samant was paid Rs 24 lakh for one programme and only Rs 4.5 lakh for another one, during IFFI.
Similarly, he alleged that the ESG has shown spending for many programmes in villages which were never performed.
He also pointed out that almost Rs 25 lakh have been spent from the government treasury for a BJP party’s convention held in Tamil Nadu.
Pointing out all these regularities, Tamankar told at a press conference that the Congress has demanded with the CAG to probe into all the misappropriation of funds.
