Goa best destination for Party, Honeymoon & Leisure

Goa has been chosen as the best destination for Party, Honeymoon and Leisure, in India.
This is a choice of readers in an on-line and readership poll conducted by “Travel + Leisure India and South Asia,” a Mumbai-based travel magazine for the India’s Best Awards 2012.
Goa has also emerged the runners-up for Family and Wedding destinations of India.
Goa Tourism deputy director Pamela Mascarenhas received the awards at a glittering ceremony held in Mumbai on 23 April.
According to Parulekar, the department’s ‘Single Window Clearance’ scheme for major and minor tourism events like beach weddings and music festivals has borne the fruits.
Similarly, introduction of measures like the IRB tourist police has bolstered the security perception in the state, he feels.
