ARVIND TENGSE, MADGAO | 20 April 2013 20:02 ISTMilind Naik in a meeting with Margao & Fatorda MLAs
Power minister Milind Naik has promised to improve power situation in Margao, the capital of South Goa, most of it by May end.
He had a meeting with Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardesai, officials of L&T and engineers of electricity department today morning.
The major decision taken at the meeting was to get 33 KV double circuit line from Sheldem sub-station to Aquem sub-station by 30 May, that would streamline regular power supply in case of a breakdown.
Naik also promised 10 MVA transformers, two each for Monte hill and Aquem sub-station.
The first one at Monte hill will be operational by 15 May, he said, while another one Aquem would be operational by September.
He also agreed to provide one hydraulic power lift and a crane mounted truck as well as to repair the existing two non-functional trolley mounted transformers within a fortnight.
This sounds good. Hopefully the situation in Benualim will be improved when we return at the end of the year.
